Don’t Look at Me!

A comic cabaret undressing the issue of body image

Ricko and Bella have grown up in the circus, but sometimes they just want to run away to the real world, especially now that the circus needs them in the centre ring – they wouldn’t be seen dead in lycra!

Don’t Look At Me! is an energetic and physical show that uses snappy dialogue, acrobatics and some cracker songs to unpack the issues of body image, eating habits and self confidence with humour and sensitivity. The ongoing problem of negative body image is a serious issue for young Queenslanders with even children believing that ‘thin is in’.

Don’t Look at Me! is produced to address this issue for both girls and boys, and to work as a catalyst for proactive discussion between students and their teachers and guardians.
